The given illustration presents information on the Hawaiian Island Chain centre of the Pacific Ocean. As is observed from the diagram, the Hawaiian island chain directly affects the Pacific tectonic plate and because of it, this plate shifts around 7-9 centimetre per year.

 

As is observed from the graph, below the Pacific Ocean, the Hawaiian island chain stands as several volcanos which are almost 80 million years old. These volcanos stand over the Pacific plate and the eruptions of these volcanos’ created a new volcano just over the Magna spume. The Pacific plate is situated on solid dense rock and because of the new volcano development; the hot spot spume remained static. The eruption process of the volcano’s starts from as deep as 2800 km and that has spat the solid rock layer.

 

Major islands within 100 km of this area are Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai and because of the eruption and sliding of the plates, the centre of the Pacific Ocean is ever changing.

The given diagram shows how a central heating system of a house works. As is observed from the illustration, the central heating machine comprises several mechanical aspects and forms a complex system.

 

According to the given illustration, for the central heating machine to work the cold water supply is required and this water flows to the storage tank and the overflow pipe is there to store the excess water in storage. The water is passed through a boiler which is either gas or oil driven and a pump is connected with it. The radiators are connected with the boiler and these radiators are made of small tubes. When the cold water passes through the pump and boiler, it gains temperatures and become hot water and from the water taps, the house members get hot water. Thus the whole system that covers the house keeps it warm.  

 

In summary, the central heating system mainly works by flowing water through the house and increasing the temperature of it.

The diagrams show the structure and processes of generating electricity from the wave power. As is observed from the presented illustration, the wave is used to produce the electricity and both the tide and ebb the structure is used to rotate a turbine to produce the electricity.

 

According to the given pictorial, the electricity producing machine works in two ways. Firstly, the structure is placed near a sea so that the wave water gets inside the chamber and creates an air pressure that would rotate the turbine placed inside a column. The rotation of the turbine produces electricity which is stored in the cells and this electricity can be passed and used. The whole structure is placed near the sea, adjacent to a cliff or sea wall.

 

The second illustration depicts how the electricity can be produced using the ebb tide of the sea. During the ebb, the water gets off from the chamber and the air pressure is created again from the opposite direction and this rotates the turbine. The rotation of the turbine produces electricity and supplies it to the storage.

 

In summary, the electricity can be produced using a structure near the sea and both the tide and the ebb-tide is used to rotate the turbine to produce the electricity.

The illustration depicts different steps through which rainwater is collected, processed and released for reuse for domestic consumptions. Overall, rainwater recycling process involves various interrelated phases including the use of the dam, treatment plant, water tank and the whole process is dependent on rain pour.

 

When the rain pours down to earth, a dam is used to collect rainwater and this water is then sent to a water treatment plant in order to produce drinking water. This water is then released for household consumptions. The houses have their own rainwater tanks which are placed adjacent to them and used for storing rainwater running from the roofs. Rainwater stored in tanks is used for domestic purposes as well. Household wastewater is then sent to a wastewater treatment plant for the recycling purpose from where the excess treated water is released into the river and the rectified water is drawn back to be used for domestic purposes again.  In the interim, surface runoff water in the form of stormwater is preserved and made to flow directly into waterways nearby.
